How often should I groom my dog?

Grooming schedules differ depending on your dog’s breed, living conditions, and personal lifestyle. Dogs whose fur needs to be cut into a particular clip like poodles, cocker spaniels, Shih Tzus, etc. can be groomed every four to six weeks. In contrast, dogs with short, shedding hair can be groomed less often, every eight to 12 weeks, as long as they’re brushed regularly.

How long does it take to groom my dog?

Grooming can take anywhere between two to four hours, depending on your pet’s breed and the type of cut you want done. By not rushing, we ensure the job is done right.

Are dogs bathed before being groomed?

Bathing your pet is part of the grooming process.  We simply wash and dry your pet and then cut your dog's hair. We use top quality products for shampooing and conditioning your dog to avoid problems with allergies or skin rash.

At what age can I bring my puppy to be groomed?

We recommend puppies start grooming after they complete their first series of shots, around 12-16 weeks of age. The sooner your puppy starts this process, the sooner he can become accustomed to the procedure and learn to enjoy the grooming experience.

My dog’s hair is matted. How will you handle his grooming?

Matted hair is unhealthy for a dog’s skin. After examining your pet’s fur, we’ll have a better idea of how to handle his grooming. If we can get the tangles out without hurting your pet, we will do so in order to preserve his coat. If not, we’ll have to cut his hair short. You can discuss grooming options with our groomer after he has a chance to examine your pet.

Should I see a vet near me for grooming services?

Bringing your pet to a local groomer can save time and money in getting these services done. It also poses less stress and anxiety for your pet.
